Bright bluish-purple pea-like flowers are abundant on the native Baptisia cultivar Decadence Blueberry Sundae False Indigo. Like all Baptisias, its flowers stalks fries from the center of pretty green foliage that grows in an upright shape. The flowers on this False Indigo are especially bright blue and attract butterflies. Place it in a large container as the "thriller" plant and for height, or anywhere in your garden, even where deer browse.
Because Decadence Blueberry Sundae False Indigo grows to 3 feet or less in height and width, it is a good choice for urban gardens and tight spaces. And you get lots of color in a compact plant. The flower stalks are loaded with blooms from where they meet the foliage to the full 3 feet. Cut the stalks for flower arrangements in summer or wait until dark seed pods appear in fall and cut them for dried arrangements.
