Deep purple foliage changes to maroon or reddish-bronze. It matures to 35 feet tall and 25 feet wide. Heat tolerance is the distinguishing characteristic of this Acer truncatum hybrid. Due to the A. truncatum parentage, it flourishes in the summer heat when few purple-leafed plants will grow. Oval, but more upright and compact compared to Crimson King.
